I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Apigee in Apr 2013
Interview
Contacts by external recruiter, then phone interview with internal recruiter which went OK - focus on experience, earnings, sales style, career aspirations, etc. the usual essentially, and very pleasant and professional.
Then phone interview with hiring manager. This is where it went wrong - first attempt was missed as recruiter mixed up timezones so we missed each other. When it was rescheduled, the call was poorly managed, unprofessional and totally turned me off working for the guy (very arrogant, put me in hold for almost 5 mins in the middle of the call, etc). Reservations he had were totally unfounded but no matter how clearly I explained it, it wouldn't click, and an apparent deal breaker for him was clearly not in my background or on my CV (so asked why were even speaking!).
Agreed it wasn't right for either of us, but the recruiter came back after me a month later to see if I was still interested.....
