The interview process for the Demand Generation Manager role consisted of three stages. It began with an engaging one-hour conversation with Sandro that felt positive and collaborative. The second round with cofounder Robin focused on company knowledge and required a customized strategy presentation with limited internal information provided.
The final round with CEO Francois Fortier included scheduling confusion (showed up 30 minutes late for the interview), questions about cultural fit after reaching the later stages, and an extensive background verification through a third-party service (Trustii) where Francois sent me the wrong verification link trying to access
private financial information not required for this position (overreach). This involved identity confirmation (ID, selfie, references) and address validation. The process also featured discussion around my personal website and use of AI-generated content, raising concerns about authenticity, however, as later discovered, Francois simply had a PTSD syndrome which made him question not only authenticity of my past work experience but also my human presence in Canada, which was not based on facts but suspicion.
Overall, the later stages emphasized heavy scrutiny and verification.
