I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Applied Materials (Sunnyvale, CA) in Dec 2017
Interview
The whole process was moving fast, with one phone interview I was invited to the onsite in the AMAT Sunnyvale campus. The onsite interview went smooth, all the people were very nice. Unfortunately I did not get the offer since one of the other candidates has a perfect fit background for this position.

Question 1
Not so many technical questions but quite some behaviour questions.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Applied Materials (Rehovot) in Jan 2026
Interview
They contacted me first through a phone, asked me about my expectation of the salary what my recent project were about.
The first interview was to talk about myself and what I've done in my studies. The second interview was about preparing a presentation about the machine I was supposed to work on. It was pretty difficult because the machine is not easy to understand.
Took them about two weeks to let me know I didn't pass the interview (via a phone call).
project presentation for teams leaders and HR, then zoom meeting for technical review with another team leader. wasting lots of time between interviews. not updating status.I had to call and check up many times.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Applied Materials in Sept 2021
Interview
2 interview rounds. #1 with hiring manager with a panel of 6 interviewers. Some of the interviewers had a good grasp of subject matter and dug deep into my work experience. But, a few literally asked me question which were clearly out of my expertise and hence setting me up to fail.
