I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Aputure (New York, NY) in July 2023
Interview
This was a position that I don't recall ever applying to but they reached out to me by email for an open position that they are trying to fill. There is an intro call where the HR rep will try to get more info on your background. Afterwards they are supposed to reach back to you with an assessment for you to complete. I say that because I was informed that I was supposed to receive that assessment from someone but never did. I reached out to the HR recruiters I was in contact with and I was ghosted. If you weren't going to move me to the next round then just say that. Why inform me of an upcoming assessment that I wouldn't be doing?
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why work there? Tell me a little more about your background.
Multiple interviews that seemed to go well that added up to hours of my time only to be ghosted. I spent significant time talking with multiple people at the company and learning about their products only for them to keep pushing the deadline of when they would have an answer and then go silent. It was a bummer to jump through so many hoops if they weren’t going to respect the effort I put in. A no would have been preferred over nothing at all.

Question 1
Every employee I talked to seemed to have different ideas for the role. Most of the questions were about past experiences.
The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Aputure
Interview
First round phone interview was okay, the second round in person was very underwhelming. The customer service office is literally 2 chairs in the upstairs of a warehouse. For an established company, the building is very sad. Not even a sign outside.
