I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Aquila Insight (Edinburgh, Scotland) in Dec 2016
Interview
It was only a telephone interview. The interview was through an agent. It was a casual discussion and they asked me a lot of details about my background and a couple of assignment I have done during my studies. They asked me to choose two of them and talk about them briefly. The lady I was talking to was really friendly and did not make you uncomfortable at all. I did not pass this stage cause of my luck of experience. Though, they mentioned that the next stage is to send you a raw dataset, you do some analysis and present your results to them face to face, like a presentation.

Interview
After I applied, I had the first informal phone call in which she basically gave me more information about the role, asked my education, why I'm interesting in this role etc. Then she was going to back to me for an interview. Never happened, no call, nothing.

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Aquila Insight (London, England) in June 2016
Interview
I had a phone interview that lasted ages and the interviewer said he was really impressed. Then there was the one to one. First the interviewer tried to get me to say how I would work with incomplete data or data we had no idea where it came from. I was not going to answer this in the way they wanted i.e. I would just do some analysis and push it out the door. This was the first sign they didn't adhere to their own values. Then the interviewer sat on their phone for the entire interview and both interviewers phones kept ringing. It was not good to be honest. Then after describing the job they wanted me to do they delayed a decision for days then said no. Would not have taken any offer. Its analysts like this that give the career a bad name and cause no end of problems people like me have to clear up behind them from damaged stakeholder relationships to firefighting reputational damage.
Find out about the company you are going for and don't be afraid to stand up for your morals and find out if you are a good fit for them. You don't want to end up anywhere you will end up leaving.
