Interview
No HR involvement. Talked to one scientist who said I was a great fit and they wanted me to talk to another scientist. Was ghosted for 5 weeks. When I pinged them, I was put in touch with another scientist. Second person had no expectations for what type of interview this would be-- I came prepared with slides to present my experience but they preferred to just chat. Had no real questions for me, citing that he didn't have his normal interview questions with him. Told me he thought I was a great fit regardless and could definitely see me on the team. I was rejected via form letter a week later and ghosted when I asked for feedback. Complete mess of an interview process that gave signals of deeper disorganization.

Tell us about yourself (this was the only question, for both interviews)
Very unorganized! They started the interview saying I am a great fit and then ghosted me and when I emailed they said you were not a good match! I would appreciate some transparency! Setting this aside, they seemed to be interested in science at least!

They asked about my research aspiration and some HR questions. Everything sounded scientific and professional except no clear discussion about interview steps. Just talking to random ppl.

Interview
Confusing, never heard back from the interviewer after what seemed like a positive conversation. Didn't seem super organized. Wouldn't recommend a friend to go through a pretty chaotic process. Unclear where I would be reporting in the organizational structure, what the goals are (is the goal to make money? is the goal to do science?)
