The company was listed on Indeed as “AE Services”, and I had a hard time finding their website. The interview was schedule directly through Indeed, which seemed a bit impersonal to me. The interview was in person (my first in person interview in two years through Covid). The first thing they asked me in the interview was what kind of accounting experience I had. I told them that I don’t have any accounting experience and talked about why they should give me a chance anyway (I am very clear about my lack of experience in my cover letter). She said, “oh. We were looking for someone with some experience.” From there she tried to give me some really unwanted and bad advice about what to do next in my job search. I don’t understand why they had me come all the way to their office just to tell me that I wasn’t a good candidate for the job. Clearly the interviewer never read my cover letter. Overall it was a horrible experience and a huge waste of time. She also never apologized for so clearly wasting my time.
