      Acquisitions Project Manager Interview

      28 Oct 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Atlas Real Estate in Sept 2021

      Interview

30 min initial interview with HR, 30 min Zoom with department lead, 30 min Zoom with construction lead. This process went well and I was interested in this position. This process took 4 weeks and I was notified by email they chose another candidate . This was a week after I was passed on to the Property Management division to interview. However this position was reposted a week later. Was pulled from my initial interest to interview for a different role as Property Management turn project manager. They had not yet made a decision on my initial job interest. 20 min call with department lead and 30 min Zoom with Regional lead. This position was not residential but apartment project management. Though I have residential turn skills and project bid scope experience that would allow me to succeed in this role, I did not have current pricing to answer interview bid questions on apartments. I was told they would be in contact. I had to reach out multiple times to hear back on this interview and never received a formal response. Felt frustrated being I was pulled from my initial position of interest to interview with PM, at their request without them even seeing if my background aligned with their needs. Overall experience was okay but lengthy with initial job interviews. If my experience had stopped there, I’d give raving reviews. The passing around to different departments for interviewing when skill set did not match the PM position needs shows lack of vetting interviewees. I clearly had no apartment budget experience and that was a dealbreaker for this position. The lack of communication and overall misunderstanding of position available with second interviews left a bad mark for me.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We’re truly sorry to hear that the process left you feeling frustrated, and we want to sincerely apologize for any confusion, delays, or lack of clarity you experienced throughout the interview journey. We understand how important clear and timely communication is, especially when candidates are investing their time and energy, and we are continually working to improve our response times and provide more consistent updates during each step of the process. Your feedback is a valuable reminder of where we still have room to grow. We also want to acknowledge the time and effort you put into interviewing for multiple roles with our team. It's possible that our hiring team saw promising elements in your background and wanted to explore how your skills might align with different areas within Atlas. That said, we regret that the transitions between departments may have led to a less-than-ideal experience. Please know we never take a candidate’s interest or their time for granted. While the outcome may not have been what you hoped for, we are grateful for the insights you've shared, as they help us continue to refine our hiring process and better serve future applicants.
