I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Atlatl Software (Charleston, SC) in June 2013
Interview
The interview process was long. I had a phone screen with the Executive Assistant, followed by an interview with Director of Product Development, Executive Assistant and Director of VE Development, then a simple design test using Unity, followed by a final interview with all the Directors (Product Development, VE Development, HR) the Executive Assistant and a Principal Software Engineer. That entire process took a little over 2 weeks to complete.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Atlatl Software (Charleston, SC) in Jan 2015
Interview
I went over and talked with the team. They seemed like a great group of people. I met the devs and all. Everyone was nice and welcoming. Then came the scheduling of my programming assignment. I can't provide specific details on it but they give you 5 days and it isn't short and simple. But it is a good way to get to know Unity 3D, which is the program they work in. So I did it, sent it in, and then over 2 weeks later I receive a response asking for me to change a few things. So I do within a few hours and send it back. Up to this point everything was going great. But this review isn't bad because they rejected me. It's bad because they didn't reject me. They did nothing. That was the last time I heard from Atlatl. No thanks for trying, even though I took quite a bit of time out of my week to learn a new language and make a game in software I had never used. Nothing. I got nothing at all from them.
