I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Aurora Innovation
Interview
Recruiter reached out to me for the role. Had a long conversation with him about the position, company, pay etc. They then said they'd schedule a call with the hiring manager. Didn't hear anything back for a couple of weeks so I followed up via email regarding next steps. They then set a 30 min call with the HM who asked me questions about my experience. Said they would follow up in a week or so. It's been more than 3 months now and I haven't heard back from the recruiter or anyone from the company. I understand not choosing a candidate but the least you can do is follow up and let them know. Even reached out to the recruiter but they did not choose to respond. Pretty disappointing and even though the company seems to be doing interesting things, the hiring process was very poor.
recruiter call did not consist of any interview questions and insisted that I will be passed to HM as they reviewed my resume. had a HM call and was ghosted after.
Extremely disorganized. Dragged on for weeks. Onsite interviews were rescheduled a few times ultimately they proceeded to organize half the onsite interviews in one off sessions. Most team members seemed pretty nice but the VP came across as pretty unimpressive and unexcited about Aurora. Recruiter was great though out the process and it seemed like the problem was with the particular org.
