We work within competitive salary bands which are applied based on qualifications and experience so comparing pay between candidates requires understanding all the variables.
All details of the position advertised for, including the salary range, is stated on our job ad so each candidate is aware of these details before they apply. We prepare the contract ahead of the interview as part of our documented SOPs to achieve productivity and efficiency.
In this way, we are ready to make the offer at interview, should we deem the candidate suitable in person. The candidate can then take the letter of offer home and review the terms before deciding whether to accept the position on the terms offered.
As with any company, while the salary band we offer initially is dependent on the candidate’s qualifications and work experience, this is reviewed periodically based on attitude and performance.
We do not have a long hiring process and usually process applications within days of receipt so that we can fill vacancies quickly and provide continuity of care to our students, as additional training will be required for new staff.
We decide to offer an interview only if the candidate meets the necessary qualifications and experience requirements and we base the remuneration offered on the information given in the CV.
The interview is conducted to confirm identity and assess character and attitude, which is important given the nature of our business. We keep interviews intentionally informal for this reason.
We focus most of our interview on making sure that the candidate understands the nature of the work as, from past experience, we know that most therapists new to the role underestimate the challenges of working with children with autism and tend to leave the profession. We want to increase the chances of hiring a candidate for the long term.
It is unfortunate that you did not fulfill our criteria for the salary you were hoping for; we wish you all the best for your job search.
