I applied online. I interviewed at AutoZone (Irving, TX) in May 2022
Interview
Pretty laid-back discussion covering basic requirements. Interview is typically conducted by the store manager, who will ask about availability, pay expectations, and prior work experience. Some might ask a generic situational hypothetical. They do not require you to know anything at all about cars. Once you pass the interview with the store/hiring manager, you will be directed to have another interview with the district manager at a later time.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at AutoZone in Apr 2025
Interview
straightforward questions about my experience and car knowledge, if I could lift a certain amount of weight, and what my availability was like—pretty straightforward, nothing difficult at all. I think the whole process was about 15 minutes long.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at AutoZone (Fredericksburg, VA) in Oct 2021
Interview
The interview process is pretty simple. You're asked about your driving, why you chose the company, and your availability. You're asked how much, if anything, you know about the company and its parts and services. You're also asked about lifting heavy objects, as you will find yourself doing so quite often.
