(1) Met with internal recruiter for 30 minutes; (2) Met with hiring manager (VP of Engineering) for 30 minutes; (3) Met with two team members for 1 hour. Everyone during the interview was very nice and professional and I enjoyed meeting them. The first two interviews went well and the role requirements aligned well with my experience. The first half of the third interview was spent on the interviewers providing context and transparency on the role, company, tech stack and goals for the team. This was much appreciated so that I had a good understanding of what to expect. We had a great conversation on my leadership and management experience which was very relevant to their needs and goals. Finally, I was asked to share about the project/product at my previous company, which shared some similarities with their platform. The interview ended well and I was looking forward to next steps. A week later I received an email stating that "Unfortunately you didn't do as well as we hoped on the technical interviews.", which was perplexing to me as I was not really asked any technical questions. At the end of the day I was left confused as to what they were looking for in their ideal candidate. I was confident that I met all their requirements and a follow-up inquiry for additional feedback went unanswered.
