I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Avalara (Seattle, WA)
Interview
Applied online, got an email then a phone screen from the recruiter. Invited to move to an on-site in Seattle, which consisted of a series of one-on-one interviews covering technical and leadership and management.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Avalara (Pune) in Oct 2019
Interview
I was approached by a recruitment agency, who briefed me about the position and requirements. After sending the resume I got a call after one month that 1st screen round will be conducted. It was a video call interview from the UK and everything went fine. After a couple of days, I got an email for my 2nd round. This was again a video call interview from the UK and this too was all good. I waited for a couple of days and realize there was no communication from the recruitment agency. I emailed to ask for feedback and was told: "not shortlisted". I replied back to the recruitment agency asking them to contact Avalara and provide me detailed feedback. After waiting for a week's time there was no response.
I finally stepped up and thought to contact the interviewer over LinkedIn asking for detailed feedback but it was not conveyed. Finally, I thought to email the Avalara HR team providing them all the information which happened in the past and asked for detailed feedback. I was assured to get one. It has been over a month and no response from HR.
My question to Avalara HR and leadership team who talk about so many traits their employee has but not a single one turned up to provide feedback. A candidate does not find hard that he/she was rejected but you as a company if does not provide detailed feedback as to what went wrong or if any than the "Ownership/Simplicity/Humility/Optimism" does not fit to purpose.
I would request that henceforth if you take interviews and candidates are rejected please provide detailed feedback, you never know your feedback will help them in various aspects and more importantly if your HR team commits to provide feedback they need to assure it. All have been lacking.
