      Latin America Account Executive Interview

      1 Nov 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Axonix (London, England) in Oct 2016

      Interview

Four interviews (one of which was in Spanish). The Spanish interview was simple as it was just to check my level of Spanish. My second interview went fine and discussed both Axonix and my own background. However, my other two interviews are what eventually led me to reject their offer to return for a final meeting. The lady who interviewed me was adamant on finding holes in my CV and quizzed me on whether I could carry out certain tasks on Excel and Photoshop. Her poor line of questioning achieved little and only deterred me from ever wishing to work with her. Finally, the last interviewer could not make it in due to rail strikes so was held via a call in the office. He proceeded to ask me even more inane questions such as "tell me a funny story" - does he not realise that reciting funny stories are usually either circumstantial, relate to mutual friends, or involve hand/facial gestures and are not simply told to a stranger over the phone. He then proceeded to ridicule me when I said I had always known I wanted to work in marketing - he took it literally and declared when he was 8 he didn't want to work in marketing. Yet ironically, my feedback included 'you need to show you want this job more' . It seems coming straight from a long-haul flight to an interview and expressing my long-term passion for working in marketing was not enough proof. It's a shame as the first two interviews were enjoyable.
