I applied online. I interviewed at B&G Advertising
Interview
Everything felt weird. From the beginning, few employees on LinkedIn, no mentioning of the job title at the interview invitation letter. And finally, it turned out to be a group interview. As I read some reviews, I'm not the only one. It feels like a scam. And what I got from my research those guys who run this company have multiple same companies in Chicago with addresses that do not exist.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at B&G Advertising in June 2020
Interview
This was by far the worst interview process I’ve ever had to go through. I was contacted via text message and “offered” the job via text message (it wasn’t an offer so much a start date without question.)
The interviewer in round one had a presentation with how to level up on the company and make more money as a sales associate. I was looking to advance my career in communications, and everything about the job descriptions were very misleading. After the PowerPoint was done, I was asked why I wasn’t taking any note. I couldn’t get one word in throughout the presentation. The whole thing gave me a bad feeling.
I was offered a second interview with the CEO (I didn’t know it at the time and he was very condescending when I didn’t immediately recognize his name). I was texted a zoom link 10 minutes before the interview started with no warning or preparation, about an hour after my first interview ended. Upon the second interview, I felt very belittled. As with normal interview answers, I framed my response in a “…if I worked for X company…” and was immediately met with “IF, that’s a big if.” I was shocked.
I ended up getting texted an “offer” about when I would start. I had to politely decline after realizing what a scam this place is.
Bottom line: this company gives me the ick. The hiring process was too fast, condescending and a waste of my time.
