I applied online. I interviewed at BAE Systems in Jan 2009
Interview
This was an internally advertised position, so needed to apply from within company to get an interview. They prepared a short-list of 3 people, and interviewed every person face-to-face with a panel of 3 people: hiring manager, HR representative, and subject matter expert. The HR guy kicked off the interview with all the usual caveats and a brief description of the role. The hiring manager then asked most of the questions, occasionally letting the subject matter expert throw in more detailed questions. The HR guy then asked questions aimed at soft-skills, and wrapped up explaining what would happen next (i.e. how long it would take for them to make a decision etc...)
