I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at BBC Studios in Sept 2021
Interview
Went through 2 rounds of interview but there was no response after the 2nd round. Would appreciate a rejection email rather than radio silence.
HR mentioned during the 2nd interview that I will be contacted within 1 week but she did not.
Actual interview was fine, and interview panel was professional, pleasant and personable. I did not receive an offer, which was also fine.
The issue was the HR person involved in coordinating it. Her behaviour, including an inability to deliver feedback and a decision was appalling. Having to chase for a decision, no feedback given, and short, rude emails. Disappointing behaviour from a supposedly progressive employer.
I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at BBC Studios (London, England) in May 2017
Interview
The entire process took over 2 months (application review and first stage interview). The role was for a Project Manager for a Luxury Swiss Watch Brand (beginning with R and ending in X), and the interview was very basic with the two interviewers (who could not be further from luxury in terms of appearance or integrity) who were just asking basic questions from a sheet they were given, and were not very interested in answering my questions at the end of the interview. It took a very long time to set up the interview as the hiring manager had personal issues. The whole process was very unprofessional as no feedback was given after the interview, it was not until I messaged the head of the team that I got an automatic response and am still waiting for actual feedback - they say on their site that they do offer feedback to candidates who get through to the interview stage but are clearly dishonest. The BBC "urge" people from Black and Ethnic Minority backgrounds to apply however do not treat them with the same respect as the White candidates...I am happy to have not gone further in the application process as the Black and Ethnic Minority staff which I saw working there when I had my interview looked miserable and oppressed. The fact that this employer can mistreat candidates in the interview process is only a small indication of the negative way they must treat their employees. This has deterred me from applying with the BBC again, and I will also be advising my colleagues, friends, and family to not apply here so they do not have to endure a negative experience.
