I applied online. I interviewed at BMW Group (Munich, Bavaria) in Aug 2025
Interview
My journey with the BMW Group internship process was a brief but insightful experience that highlighted the high standards of the premium automotive industry.
After passing the initial CV screening and a gamified online assessment, I was invited to the first formal round: a 45-minute video interview with a Department Manager and an HR representative. We delved deep into my technical background and how I would apply the "BMW mindset" to solve real-world production challenges.
Unfortunately, I was not selected to move forward to the second phase, which typically involves a team-fit meeting or a case study. The feedback suggested that while my cultural alignment was strong, they required a candidate with more specialized experience in the specific software tools used by their team. Despite not passing, the process gave me a clear understanding of the precision and professional excellence BMW expects from its interns.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How would you integrate circular economy principles into our future vehicle design process?
A very friendly interview with a hiring manager and one member of the tech team. They asked some basic questions and also some technical questions. The vibe is relaxed and pleasant.
The interview was professional yet relaxed, and I really enjoyed the technical exchange with the team. We discussed the practical application of software architecture and mechanical sensor integration in a way that felt like a conversation between peers. While there was a slight delay in the follow-up due to internal scheduling, the team was very transparent and kept me updated throughout the process. Overall, it was a positive experience with a respectful and engaging atmosphere.
Just prepare normal behavioral interview question and a little bit of technical questions related to the role. The recruitment process of the internship consist of one interview then after that you get an offer.
