      Global Custody Account Manager Interview

      15 Sept 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Welling, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at BNP Paribas (Welling, England) in July 2021

      Interview

I interviewed for the role of Global Custody Settlements Account Manager in July’21. Interview went really well and was told I would get a 2nd interview. I waited for some follow up. And waited. And waited. I then chased up BNP for some further info, and was told that the role had not yet been approved (?!?!) but once it had I would be contacted. A week later I received an email telling me that I WAS NOT being taken forward . I was mislead and lied to for two months. An absolute lack of professional courtesy from BNP, who mention honesty and integrity in their values, but appear not to display any themselves! It is my belief that BNP hoped I would forget about this after a while so they would not have to tell me what was happening. Would actively discouraged people from wasting their time with BNP.

      Global Custody Account Manager Interview

      15 May 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Sydney
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied in-person. I interviewed at BNP Paribas (Sydney) in Apr 2026

      Interview

Interview Process: The initial interview was professional and straightforward. The panel was engaged, and I was given the impression that the process was nearing its end. In fact, the interviewers went as far as to explicitly state that the decision was between myself and one other candidate. They provided a clear verbal commitment that regardless of the outcome, I would be informed of the decision within a week. The Post-Interview Experience: It has now been a month since that interview, and the experience has been incredibly unprofessional and disappointing. Despite the firm promise of an update, I have received no communication. I have followed up with the recruitment team (HRSS) three separate times via email to seek a status update, but all my inquiries have been met with total silence. Adding to the frustration, the online application portal still lists my status as "Interviewing," yet the team has essentially ghosted me. Advice to Management: For a global firm, the lack of basic professional courtesy is surprising. If a candidate is told they are a finalist and promised a response, that commitment should be honored. Failing to provide a simple "no" after three follow-ups reflects poorly on the bank's brand and candidate experience in the Sydney market.
