I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at BNY (Singapore) in July 2021
Interview
Interviewers were genuinely friendly and knowledgable - technical questions were asked. Depending on the particular role and its seniority, more than 3 rounds of interviews (with more than 2 interviewers) may be conducted.

Question 1
What do you know about the business line to which this role will be supporting?
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at BNY
Interview
I had 9-10 rounds with senior leadership. everyone was very friendly across the board. They were all behavioral / conversational interviews. Got a good sense of positive culture. My one issue is that I know I was a final candidate and had gone through quite a few interviews - I would have expected more than an automated email to receive a rejection. From other financial institutions, I have had the recruiter call me. That seems more respectful for the amount of time that goes into getting to that point in the process.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at BNY in Oct 2025
Interview
After applying for a role online, the posted job description changed substantially right before my interview. What started as broadly scoped responsibilities became a highly specialized role. I only noticed a few minutes before meeting with the hiring manager. My interactions with both the hiring manager and recruiter were positive; however, at no time was this significant change communicated to me. In my 20-year career, this was a first, and it is quite unfair to put a candidate in that position. I spent a great deal of time preparing for the scope I applied for, only for it to completely shift without my knowledge or being given additional time to better align my experience with the new scope.
