I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Baanyan Software Services (Jersey City, NJ) in Aug 2024
Interview
The interview process at Baanyan is usually structured and professional, starting with a recruiter screening followed by one or two technical rounds focused on coding fundamentals, React/JavaScript concepts, and practical problem-solving. Candidates are often asked to discuss real-world project experience, architecture decisions, and testing approaches. A managerial or behavioral round typically evaluates teamwork, ownership, and communication skills. Overall, the process feels organized and emphasizes strong fundamentals, clean code, and the ability to work effectively in a large, enterprise banking environment.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
One key thing they focused on was explaining real project ownership — specifically, they asked me to walk through a frontend feature I built end-to-end, including how I structured the React components, handled state management, integrated APIs, and ensured performance and test coverage. They weren’t just looking for code knowledge; they wanted to understand my decision-making, tradeoffs, and how I ensured the solution was scalable and production-ready in an enterprise environment.
