I applied online. I interviewed at BairesDev (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2021
Interview
Long! They had me take 7 tests including logic and IT with questions having nothing to do with the job I applied for. I passed all of them and was told I scored in the top 1%. I interviewed with at least 5 different people over a few months. Then the last interview was with a gentleman in Texas who sounded very aloof and had no interest and they never even gave me feedback. Just ghosted after at least 10 hours of my time. Months later, I began to get emails saying they would like to schedule an interview. When I would click on the link, it said no interviews available. At the same time, I got emails from their sales team asking if I am looking to hire anyone. I don't have a company to hire anyone so they had to get my information through the interview process. I am sad to say I fell for their last 3 emails saying they want to interview me again. I tried contacting the last recruiter I spoke with at her email address and no reply. I called and left a message on the general line because it was impossible to dial by name. Then last week, I got an email that wasn't just a drip email probably sent to many, and he personally called to say they have an opportunity for me. He said he would call back since I didn't answer the call with no id. He did call back and scheduled an interview with another recruiter saying they have an offer. I spoke with the new recruiter and she asked me the same questions that I have answered for them over the last 5 interviews. I was hoping for a job offer at the end of the call. Instead she said the next part of the process is 3 more interviews. I explained I have already gone through all of this. There is nothing more I can give them. After reading about the quotas they have for interviews, I believe they are just trying to meet their quota by giving me false hope over and over. I am also over 40 and it would make sense that they obviously don't want to hire anyone older because I have passed all of the tests, interviewed 6 times now and they are absolutely toying with me with no intention of giving me an offer. As a recruiter myself, this is the most unprofessional way to hire people and what happens when needless quotas are put in place. I feel foolish to even have gotten my hopes up for a job that would've paid me less than half of what my last job paid me anyway. Stay clear of a company who doesn't value your time. Interviewing with them is just not worth your time and effort. I should get paid for the amount of hours wasted on this company.
The interview process consisted of an initial screening call that was well-structured and efficient. Beatriz was incredibly personable and easy to speak with, which made the conversation feel natural and engaging. The discussion covered my background, experience, and alignment with the role, and I appreciated the clear communication and professionalism throughout. She also followed up promptly with an email noting she would be in touch regarding potential next steps, which reinforced a positive candidate experience.
