I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Baker Tilly in June 2020
Interview
1st Interview with a Recruiter
2nd Interview with a Manager
3rd Interview with a Director
Sometimes they have you interview with additional managers.
The process was pretty informal. Everyone I interviewed with was great. They start with a few introductory questions and the conversation goes from there. Definitely do your research. Have a good understanding of the types of projects they work on and how your skills match.
I applied online. I interviewed at Baker Tilly (New York, NY) in Jan 2026
Interview
Disorganized, slow to respond. Not a good look for Baker Tilly. Recruiting team took over a week to respond beyond when they said they would. They assumed I was applying for one location and ended the process without actually asking me why I applied for where the role was. Recruiter didn't seem to know what their practice did. I ended up giving up on the process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about your background, give us more detail about what we have on your resume. What prior knowledge do you have of Baker Tilly?
Very dry interviewers. Recruiter said I did great and after my interviews they stated they were not hiring anyone for the role due to macro uncertainties. Recruiter seemed upset as well about the circumstances.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why consulting? And how has your experience made you confident you could succeed in this role.
2 interviewers, mostly behavioral questions. Did not ask any technical/case related questions. Curious about how you solved problems, but wanted to know if you would be a good fit for the company.
