I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Balfour Beatty (San Jose, CA) in Feb 2019
Interview
Relatively informal. Sit-down interview in the project-site office. All B.B. employees on that project came into the room and had copies of my resume. Very typical questions, though nothing about salary for obvious reasons. Really dug into my related experience, and they asked me some straight-forward and text-book questions. They asked about other projects by B.B. that I might be more interested in. (To be clear, I have not received a formal offer, but my recruiter seems confident that I landed the role. It's been 9 days since the interview).

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Balfour Beatty in June 2025
Interview
It’s a simple interview process, barely asked any questions relating to the role. Two stage interview process, first on teams and the other in person. From application to offer was under 2 weeks.
Interview mostly had to do with my previous experiences and what I can expect at the company. It was in person and there were two senior engineers involved. Overall it was a decent interview with much emphasis on the project.

Interview
Ridiculous, Psychometric test bordering on astrology for a pot luck at moving on to the next stage with a follow up email to tell you how useless and lazy you are. Dont bother wasting your time with this disrespectful company.
No chance to showcase my experiences and abilities, Ruled out by a computer that clearly knows better than any human yet again.

Question 1
Completely unrelated to the job multiple choice of "what best describes you" on loop.
