I applied for a Data Library Asset Specialist role through Indeed.com and received an interview request within a week. A Zoom interview followed that week before a final decision was reached a week later.
I was ultimately not selected -- and I knew by interview's end that this would probably be a bust. I'm unhappy about the decision, but I'm not surprised.
The issue for me, instead, is HOW I was notified of this decision: Bang Zoom's contact did NOT notify me directly. Instead, it was an Indeed.com update notification with an accompanying generic rejection message.
Honestly, it came across as discourteous and even a little unprofessional. I took time out of my schedule to do this interview; I don't think it's asking much for even a quick, personal update or even brief feedback on what factor(s) decided my application's fate.
It's a minor thing, but good communication and customer service are important to me and my decisions as to whether to re-apply and re-interview with potential companies. And if Bang Zoom Studios is going to treat potential job candidates like this and discard them without a second thought or even show basic courtesy to them...why would I be compelled to re-apply and re-interview in the future?
