I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Barnes & Noble Education (Bethlehem, PA) in Aug 2009
Interview
Went in to pick up an application and was given one and directed to the assistant store manager. The assistant manager asked if I wanted to interview right away, and I agreed to it. The interview was very relaxed and simple. I was only asked questions about whether or not I was a student at the university, if I lived nearby or on campus, and what my availability was. I don't know that this is a typical interview, however, as it later seemed that I just had good timing by applying before rush when the textbook department needed extra help.

Question 1
None were difficult. The most unexpected part was the lack of questions. I'm not even sure that I was asked about previous job experience.
The interview was a group meeting with about 8 other people. They give a lot of case scenarios and go around asking everyone to answer. First interview is one on one. After the group meeting they call you within a week letting you know if you got the job or not.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Barnes & Noble Education (Indianapolis, IN) in Aug 2013
Interview
Easy, not many questions that are hard to answer. Interview process was literally 5 minutes, not very serious at all, very casual. Didn't require any type of dress to the interview, so business casual will work just fine in this situation.
