I was given a technical topic to present at my first interview. I arrived a few minutes early and they came and got me right on time.
I was escorted into a small conference room with eight people and I sat at the head of the table. I handed out copies of my portfolio; they presented me with an 'interview agenda'. While they reviewed the packet I gave them, I reviewed the agenda and saw that there were three extremely vague yet difficult technical qurestions at the bottom; questions I knew nothing about. Right about that time, they asked a few introductory questions and gave me access to the whiteboard to do my presentation.
As it turns out, there were no markers - it was a SmartBoard I was not familiar with. I sort of figured it out and move forward with my presentation (with those three questions hanging over my head).
I finished the presentation, sat back down and they proceeded to ask me the three questions. See them, and my answers, below.
After that, it was relatively uneventful as I think I had disconcerted them with my answers. I did have a couple questions for them; they answered, I thanked them and was escorted out.
Sometime I'll have to tell the story of the next step - meeting the College President.
