      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Beard Papa's (New York, NY) in Aug 2014

      Interview

I was referred to this job by a friend, who learned that the Beard Papa's on 2167 Broadway Street in NY was hiring for part-time, and I was keen on applying because she mentioned the job position does not require any prior work experience. She offered to drop off my resume for me, and about two weeks later, I received an email from the manager proposing that we meet so she could interview me. There were not really any hard interview questions. She basically asked me to introduce myself, state my background and explain why I was applying for the job. She also asked what I was currently doing in my spare time. Out of interest, I did ask her information on some of the functions of the job position, such as when would training for the position take place, how many hours in one week would I be expected to work, etc. After the interview (which lasted a duration of 5-7 minutes), she handed me an application to fill out. It asked for my basic information and for two past/present supervisor references, but also gave me a series of questions such as "How would you describe customer service?" and "What's your favorite dessert?" Also during the interview, the manager had implied that should she be interested in hiring me, I would receive an email within 48 hours confirming this, and if not, then I would not be hired. Having finished filling out the application, I handed it back to one of the staff members at the counter and left. I waited two days, but I did not hear back from the manager via email.
