A BBB recruiter reached out to me about an opportunity. We set up time to speak over the phone. At the scheduled time, I waited for her call for 30 minutes. I also emailed her twice reconfirming the time and asking if she would prefer to reschedule. She never called me or responded to my emails. It was extremely unprofessional. I will never pursue employment at BBB given how incompetent and disrespectful the employees clearly are. I suppose I dodged a bullet if this is how the HR department goes about recruiting/treating potential new hires.
Negative experience
Easy interview
Application
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Bed Bath & Beyond (Union, NJ) in June 2013
Interview
Phone interview with internal recruiter. Asked basic questions...she stated that the ecommerce team were a "strange" bunch and chuckled. Recruiter emailed me following week to schedule interview. She changed interview time/date several times and it was delayed by 3+ weeks. When I came to in-person interview, two of the 3 interviewers were not available. The recruiter decided to re-interview me in person and forgot who I was and which position I applied for. In the middle of the discussion, a young man (who appeared agitated and rushed) walks in and states that he was double booked and that he needs to leave in 5 minutes.
After he asked 1 or 2 questions, the recruiter comes back and says that he spoke with me longer than most applicants, which was a positive sign.
She walks me out and tells me that she needs an administrative assistant Two weeks later I followed up and the recruiter seemed a bit disturbed that I called and left me a rude voicemail asking if I had another job offer pending. Regardless, I received a rejection letter about a week later in the mail.
