I applied online. I interviewed at Bedspace (Liverpool, England) in June 2026
Interview
I recently interviewed for the recruitment & onboarding coordinator position, and, unfortunately, I found the overall candidate experience to be disappointing.
The positives were that the employees I dealt with were friendly, the interview questions were relevant to the role, and I appreciated receiving a phone call with the final outcome rather than a generic rejection email.
However, there were several aspects of the process that I felt could have been handled better. The interview included an unannounced written assessment, which I would have preferred to have been informed about beforehand. In addition, I was initially told I would receive an outcome by the end of the week, which was later delayed until Monday. When Monday passed without any update, I had to contact the organisation myself to request an outcome.
I fully accept that I was unsuccessful and have no issue with another candidate being appointed. My disappointment relates solely to the communication and management of the recruitment process, which I felt fell below the standard I would expect from a recruitment & onboarding team.
Overall, I found the experience frustrating and believe there is room for improvement in candidate communication and expectation management.
I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Bedspace (Manchester, England) in Feb 2023
Interview
the interview conducted was very pleasant and I was put at ease by the 2 interviewers. It felt like a 2 way conversation where they were able to find out about me and I could find out about the role and the business
