I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Bending Spoons (Milan) in June 2018
Interview
I applied from Bending Spoons Website. I received an automatic e-mail after one week saying I've passed the first screening. After that I received another automatic e-mail with a link to bending spoons website with 3 problems to solve (5 hours of work for all the problems). The main argument of the problem was marketing (app ranking, LTV ecc). I'am not a marketer and I've never worked in marketing. I found the problems totally unuseful for the purpose of the job I were applying. After 5 hours of time wasted, I've finally completed the test. After another week I received another automatic mail saying I didn't passed to the next stage and telling me not to ask the reason of rejection, because it was against bending spoons policy.
My two cents about the process:
I can understand that you receive so many application for your Job Postings, but in my opinion is totatlly unacceptable to manage all the process with an automated system. Tests can be performed everywhere and most of the times a candidate can perform better speaking with his interviewer instead of simply writing some words. Maybe your tests will be great for un-experienced candidates, but if your looking for a professional, someone who care about his work and is able to manage stakeholders and to solve "real life" problems, you definitely can't use this approach in future.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Select from the following sentence the one that best describe your way to work and motivate it with concrete examples.
Dopo una serie di step scritti, credo ci siano anche piú colloqui orali. Ma mi sono fermato al primo. Diversi case study e analisi. Non solo tech, azienda in forte crescita.
Very straightforward and easy to follow. I completed all the stages of the recruitment process so I also got feedback at the end. Rejected because of mistake I made in my first stage OA.
Processo di selezione molto sfidante ma anche affascinante. Forse uno dei migliori mai avuti. Svariati assessment sia di carattere attitudinale che tecnici. Richiede sicuramente tempo e un effort notevole ma ne vale la pena.
