I applied online. I interviewed at Bennie in Feb 2026
Interview
I interviewed for a marketing role and left feeling that the conversation focused heavily on why I left previous positions rather than on my qualifications, skills, or how I could contribute in this role. There was very limited discussion around my marketing operations experience, campaign execution, or platform expertise, which I was hoping to highlight.
I was also asked why I have been out of work for an extended period. I was part of a company-wide layoff last year due to a restructure, which impacted many employees. Given the number of layoffs across industries over the past couple of years, the current job market has been very challenging for many qualified professionals. I feel like a recruiter should know this.

Question 1
Why did you leave each of your last roles? What happened there?
The interview consisted of a phone screen and hiring manager interview.
It was an ok interview. I was asked a question that is considered personal by both the phone screen and hiring manager and I felt that was not very professional.
It was very warm and friendly. I felt very prepared. Everyone was on time and it was more of a conversation than an interview. We had worked together at a past business.
