Interview
This process took several months. I met with 10+ people some in person, some via Zoom. I also prepared a marketing campaign (uncompensated) and took a bizarre personality test that asked me to rank how much I valued such things as torturing a man to death, poisoning a city's water supply, a new car, an old car, justice, and prostitution.

Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter after applying online. She scheduled a phone interview with me (via email) for two weeks in the future. That should've been my first sign they move slowly. The recruiter was pleasant and we spent an hour on the phone getting to know one another. You can tell they are very concerned with both personality and experience, so this is not your typical 30 minute phone interview. The line of questioning is not difficult, but just be prepared to speak in-depth. The recruiter let me know that if I did proceed to the next steps, I'd be meeting with the local hiring manager. It's worth noting that this is obviously a non-profit job, so the salary isn't great but some of the benefits are pretty awesome and indicative of animal lovers. I also received the impression that they trust their employees to do their jobs well and efficiently. Doesn't seem like they're big on "busy work" or working just to work, so the work-life-balance stood out to me as a major pro. At the time of our conversation, the recruiter asked me to follow-up with her in two weeks if I hadn't heard back by then. When I did, I received a very basic response saying they're still interviewing other candidates and will let me know. Fast forward two months and I receive a generic email thanking me for my interest and letting me know the position is closed.
I was not at all impressed with the interview process or the recruiter, but seems to be a good company with a great mission nonetheless.
