I applied online. I interviewed at Biocomposites (Stoke-on-Trent, England) in May 2026
Interview
First touch was a 30 minute screening call with a member of HR followed by a 30 minute interview over Teams with the hiring manager. Questions mainly covered my CV experience and whether I would be happy to work fully in office.
I did not hear back after the interview to let me know I had not been successful.
4 stages of interview:
1) Pre-screen with recruitment
2) Teams call with hiring manager
3) Face to face interview with hiring manager
4) Follow up Teams call with HR Director
First 3 stages were relatively plain sailing and straightforward and a fairly positive experience. All were scheduled quickly, and I felt informed about the role, organisation and suitability. The fourth stage was added as the HR Director was unexpectedly available to attend stage 3 the face-to-face interview.
The fourth stage was awful. The worst interview I have experienced in my life, and I felt completely humiliated by the HR Director. It was quickly obvious that it was felt I was not a suitable fit for the role, which is disappointing to only have this identified at this stage in the (lengthy) process.
The company has since ghosted me since this interview which I feel incredibly disappointed with, having spent multiple hours to attend 3 interviews.
