I applied through university. I interviewed at Birchbox
Interview
I saw the post on my schools website and applied. I got an email back right away for a phone call (that evening). I talked to her for about 15 min about my experience. The next morning I got an email to come to interview the following week. I came in and met with 2 girls asking similar questions and then was asked to reply to 3 customer emails (multipart). After that I left and was emailed the next morning for an offer. I recommend knowing situations with a customer or a problem and how you solved it and knowing how to deal with customer issues.

I applied online. I interviewed at Birchbox (New York, NY)
Interview
Applied online and heard back from a recruiter a week later. Went through a phone interview which was followed by an in person interview. The interview was very easy and was quite conversational. At the end of the question and answer portion I was given a test to answer three customer emails. They give you the web site to look up the answers. This is more to see your writing style. I thought it went really well and waited three weeks to hear back that they decided they did not want to hire me. Bummer.. would have been a cool company to work at. Except I wouldn't have looked forward to being paid 35,000 a year to work insane hours.
