      Product Interview

      3 June 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at BitTorrent (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2019

      Interview

2 Phone screens and on-site presentation + challenge. Every phone screen and interview was at least 15 minutes later from the agreed time. In addition, the on-site panel during the interview was lackluster as the majority of the team was not paying attention to my presentation. The in-person interview did not follow any kind of structure and the questions asked were not deep (if any). The whiteboard challenge consisted of something entirely different from standard design whiteboard challenges (probably due to not having designers conducting the challenge). After given the prompt to see how you would work with the members of the team, the team interestingly enough does not help with constraint questions and instead inputs more open-ended goals to the prompt.

White board challenge: redesign a very population application to be even better than it already is.
