I applied through other source. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Blacklane in Apr 2026
Interview
Smooth and efficient process. The recruiter was very accommodating when I needed to reschedule meetings, which I appreciated. I particularly enjoyed the direct tone and high energy from the Director. While the turnaround time for the case study was quite tight, especially during a busy week, the overall experience was positive and professional.
I applied online. I interviewed at Blacklane (Madrid) in Mar 2026
Interview
The interview process was clearly shared and defined. It started with a screening interview which included a few high level technical questions that were going to be shared with the team.
Then it followed a live coding exercise assited by AI tools. A few days later I had a system design interview and lastly a more cultural interview before getting an offer.
As I said the process was great, smooth and well organised. It also was quick, less than 2 weeks since the screening to the offer.

Question 1
One of the questions I had was: From my perspective what is a good engineer?
The process consisted of three separate interviews across different days, each lasting around one hour, including a detailed case study presentation. The conversations themselves were professional, respectful, and engaging. The team created a comfortable environment to discuss my experience, design thinking, and strategic approach.
However, the overall process required a significant time investment — three hours of interviews plus extensive preparation for the case study. After the final round, the rejection feedback was quite general, mentioning a “seniority alignment” mismatch without providing specific or actionable insights.
Given the depth of the process and the preparation involved, more concrete feedback would have been appreciated. Clearer communication at the final stage would significantly improve the candidate experience.
