      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Blue Origin (Seattle, WA) in Feb 2022

      Interview

Meet the recruiter then meet the hiring manager. If they like you, you get to do a 45 min to one hour presentation followed by a panel interview. It can be long, but be sure your presentation is somewhat relevant to the job description.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How do you determine the aero forces around a rocket. What's the difference between rarefied and continuum aero. What's the difference between implicit and explicit numerical schemes

      Application

I interviewed at Blue Origin (Kent, WA)

      Interview

First, it's recruiter vetting, then hiring manager vetting, followed by a 5-hour interview that includes a presentation and 30-min technical Q/A with each interviewer. There were 5 interviewers, each within their realm of expertise.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Various. Each interviewer was basically nitpicking certain technical questions within their area of expertise. It's difficult to navigate through a lot of technical questions that you don't necessarily know the answers for during the interview.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Blue Origin

      Interview

It is a grind. Don't walk into this interview without studying. You will be tested with everything from Bernoulli's principal to spaceflight history. The interview is with 5-6 engineers and managers who will each be given time to speak with you and evaluate different skills you are expected to have for the job. you will have to give a presentation and will go to lunch with a small group of people from the team you are interviewing for. They are evaluating you for your technical knowledge, as well as your cultural fit in the company.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Draw a stress/strain diagram and describe the major features. How does a thermocouple work? When would it be better to use an RTD? How many successful launches of a new rocket would you need to see before you'd let your mother go for a ride?
