I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Bluegreen Vacations (Orlando, FL) in Mar 2016
Interview
- I applied online and had a phone interview the same day. I received the call about 3 hours after submitting the application. The HR representative asked basic interview questions about my past sales experience, what I was looking for, and my availability. She then emailed me a questionnaire to complete. Once I submitted the questionnaire , she called me back about an hour later to schedule an in person interview. She wanted me to come in the same day , but I was unable to. I scheduled the interview for 2 days later.
- The office was very clean and nicely decorated. The receptionist greeted me and handed me another questionnaire to fill out. It was very similar to the questionnaire I previously completed online, but I filled it out nonetheless. There were 2 other people waiting for interviews when I arrived. I assumed it was going to be a group interview , but it wasn't & I was the first person called in for a 1 on 1.
-The first person I interviewed with, was really laid back. He told me the history of the company , and the job description. It was more of a friendly conversation rather than a interview. I mainly carried the conversation while he listened and wrote down a few notes. He then reviewed my availability. I had an open availability besides on Sundays where I was only available in the evenings. He explained that the scheduled time was the same everyday so I would have to only work evenings. That was fine with me.
-Next he brought in the evening supervisor. She was a little intimidating at first. You could tell she meant business. She pretty much asked me about my previous sales experience and how I dealt with overcoming objections. She told me about the job description again and then we role played the script. The script was very basic and easy to read. She wasn't worried about little mistakes , she was more interested in my tonality , and how I was able to overcome objections. Throughout the role playing, she tried to catch me off guard with some of her answers , but it was still pretty simple to me, being that I have previous call center experience.
-The total time spent there was about 30 minutes. She told me I would be hearing back from HR by Monday (because it was Friday evening after 3). But by time I got home I received a call from HR offering me a position contingent on passing a background check and drug test. The HR representative emailed me a scheduled drug test at Labcorp which had to be completed within 2 business days. I begin my orientation in about a week and a half.
