Interview
I went thru 2 interviews session before I was hired. The first interview was over the phone by the recruiter and once I get thru that I was invited to the headquarter for the second interview. I get to interview with 3 managers in the same room along with the owner himself.
I applied online. I interviewed at Bob Mills Furniture (San Antonio, TX) in Feb 2026
Interview
The interview process was unnecessarily long and poorly coordinated. From the day I applied to the final decision the process took over a month and required five interviews (three phone and two in person) for what is ultimately a retail furniture sales role.
Communication throughout the process was extremely inconsistent. After each interview I was told someone would follow up shortly, but responses typically took about a week or longer. Even when I reached out directly through email, Indeed messaging, and phone calls to request updates, I often received no response at all. The lack of communication made the process unnecessarily confusing and difficult to navigate.
The interview with the Director of Sales felt disengaged and unprofessional. He appeared distracted and repeatedly spoke with someone off screen during the conversation, which made it difficult to maintain a normal interview. Despite this, he later criticized my level of enthusiasm during the discussion.
I was also told that interview would be the final step, but nearly a week later another sales manager contacted me asking for an additional same day phone interview. That conversation was equally disappointing. The manager frequently interrupted my responses, asked confusing questions, and seemed frustrated when my answers did not match what she expected. The call ended abruptly when I asked how candidates should communicate with the company to avoid delays or confusion.
Overall the process felt disorganized, overly lengthy, and extremely unprofessional.
