      Service Technician Interview

      8 Nov 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Melbourne
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Bombardier (Melbourne) in Oct 2016

      Interview

I had two interviews. The first interview was on site. I was interviewed by Manager, Supervisor and HR manager. The interview included behavioral and technical questions. The managers asked me examples demonstrating failures, customer service. Technical aspects discussed included explanations of circuits and line diagrams. During the first interview the manager emphasized that the job role will have night shift work and whether I will be ok with working night shifts, to which I agreed. After two weeks, I was invited for a telephone interview where technical evaluation was done. During the phone interview, I was asked how to fix and repair PCBs. I was also given a scenario where I was in an island and a friend handed me an amplifier (no explanation of the use of amplifier) and I was told it was not working. I only had one ammeter, and the question was how would I go about finding what is wrong with the amplifier. During the second interview, the manager again iterated that even though the job role was advertised as day/night shift and he agreed in the first interview that the position will be roster based, he wants the candidate to work night shift entirely. The interview was done on Friday and I was informed that the final decision will be conveyed to me on next Monday. Didnt hear anything from the board. After leaving telephone messages to the hiring manager and talking to the manager over the phone and him reassuring that someone will contact me I didnt hear anything from anyone. Its been 20 days since the second interview, I sent them an email asking about the progress (during this time, I had telephoned them as mentioned above) and finally I received a call from hiring manager mentioning that I have not been successful technically.
