I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Boston Language Institute (Boston, MA) in July 2017
Interview
My interview went smoothly. Frist a coordinator came and interviewed me. It lasted 15 minutes and she asked me about my past experience and she explained very well what the expectations and requirements of the job are. She was very professional and welcoming. I also got the chance to sit down with the president. The interview took 10 minutes with him. He referred to my resume and asked me about my previous experiences and usual interview questions.
I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Boston Language Institute
Interview
I interviewed first with a program coordinator, who was very nice. She gave me the information about the job, schedule, etc, and asked me about my work experience. She repeatedly warned me that the president of the company was difficult to work for, and that I would probably be asked to do a lot of things beyond a typical receptionist's job duties. I later sat down with the president, who didn't ask me anything about my work experience or give me any information about the job. Instead I was asked about my personal life, my religion, and my political beliefs, and then he proceeded to ramble for over an hour about his personal philosophies and religious practices, how successful he was, etc. This whole thing took place while he was eating lunch. It was extremely uncomfortable, and I should have walked away from the job right there. However, I needed something part time during college, the schedule worked for me, and frankly I was too shocked to realize just how inappropriate this was.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The first interview contained basic questions about my work experience (was I comfortable handling money, did I have experience with a multi-line phone system, etc.). The second interview contained only very personal questions.
