I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Box (Austin, TX) in May 2017
Interview
There is an initial phone screen with a recruiter. Base on your performance in the initial screen you will have a second call with the hiring manager. Based on your call with the hiring manager you will be invited on-site to interview with four current employees, one being the hiring manager you spoke with prior. The on-site takes two and a half hours to complete during business hours. After the on-site marathon, you will reach the final step, which is an in-person or hangout interview with the director.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Can you please use the whiteboard to explain one of your hobbies to me? Teach it in a way you would teach someone with no prior knowledge or exposure to the subject.
Very inconsistent communication. Long gaps with no updates, followed by urgent requests to interview. The process felt unstructured and poorly coordinated. Felt unprofessional and disorganised. Not sure why, maybe I was just a backup.
Great interview process, quite lengthy but really well thought out. There was a call with recruiters, then hiring managers conversations, cultural fit call, panel meeting and then an in person meeting.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Box (London, England) in July 2025
Interview
Applied online. Did initial recruiter interview, seemed very positive during the call and said she was going to follow up after the call to move me to the next round. Never received any follow up and was ghosted after emailing twice. Awful.
