I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Box (Redwood City, CA) in Sept 2020
Interview
As per the recruiter, the process consisted of Initial screening round via Zoom and then final onsite(virtual) round consisting of 5 hours of interview.
1. Screening went well, the interviewer was great and asked about my experience, some technical questions and two coding.
2. I had to wait for around 20 days to get the feedback.
3. Then they asked me to provide availability for onsite(for around 6 Hours via Zoom)
4. On the day of the interview all set, I have taken day off from work. And suddenly couple of hours before the interview starts, the recruiter sent an email by apologizing and told there were company reorganization happened recently leading to change in job requirement and suddenly overnight I am no more a suitable candidate. Hence they would cancel the interview.
What? Just in one night everything changed? You made me wait so long, I have put my time and effort, which you have no brain to realize and suddenly disqualify me.
Well, all I can say that the hiring practice in this organization is so unprofessional and it is certainly true that a company work culture and ethic index can be reflected from its hiring culture. They have no respect for others time. A company which does not respect others time can never have a good work culture . I am SAVED! So , please keep this in mind before you talk to the recruiter.

We are actively working to standardize hiring processes to provide quicker response times to candidates and to mitigate situations such as cancellations. Thank you again for your feedback!
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Box in Nov 2019
Interview
I wish there were a two thumbs down option on glassdoor for this one.
I was contacted by a recruiter via email and spend close to an hour describing her of my current job duties and technical skills. She later scheduled the phone screen with one of the current engineers.
The phone screen was pretty lame, easy to medium range array/string manipulation questions and we were done in ~35 minutes. The interviewer did not have any more questions for me and he was satisfied with whatever I had done until then.
He assured me that I would be called onsite and asked me to start preparing as well. Cut to 2 days later, the recruiter reaches out saying they're looking for something else in a candidate. Absolute BS. She did not even provide proper feedback for the out of the air rejection, while I was prepping for my onsite.
Overall, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL recruiting process with no respect for the candidate. The worst part was manipulating the feedback and I have no clue as in why this had been done. I'm glad I did not end up getting hired here.
