After five rounds of interviews, the final stage involved a presentation to three people I had previously spoken with. Despite bringing years of experience in the field and putting significant time and effort into a detailed case study, the experience was deeply disappointing. The interviewers arrived late to my presentation, and the overall tone from certain panel members was dismissive and disrespectful throughout the process. It made for one of the most demoralizing interview experiences I've had in my career. Given the level of preparation and experience candidates are expected to bring, a baseline of professionalism in return doesn't feel like too much to ask. Worth noting: the role has been reposted continuously for months without being filled, which may say something about the broader hiring process.
