Lots of red flags.
First of all, I’m not entirely sure what this company’s actual name is. I was under the impression it was for a marketing firm called “Balance and Buzz”, but discovered they had reached out under “Brandfuze” and when I arrived for my in-person interview, the name of the company wasn’t even in the directory, as it was some other name.
When I got to the office, I waited in the lobby for about 20 minutes before a guy wearing a reddish three-piece suit came out and brought me in one of the glass offices. He proceeded to talk very quickly in vague terms about what the position would entail, but definitely created more questions than he answered. I tried asking clarifying questions, but each time he seemed a bit surprised, answered vaguely and proceeded to bulldoze through this “interview“. I even mentioned that I had checked out the website trying to learn more about the company, and he waved me off, saying it was more for prospective clients than people looking to apply.. he said this “section” of the company was the one that dealt with Fortune 500 clients (a phrase he dropped no less than 3 times). He moved on quickly.
He then told me that I would be starting at $70,000 a year and it would go up quickly from there. I would be managing a team of 20 people (again, not sure doing what) and proceeded to ask me TWO simple standard questions before wrapping up. As I had more questions than were answered, I tried again to ask more about the position, and he assured me that I would learn much much more in the next round of interviews. He then told me to keep my phone on me, and proceeded to usher me out. All of this took under 10 minutes. Never heard from them.
Not sure what happened, but it smells scam-ish to me.
