      A/P Assistant Interview

      10 June 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Cincinnati, OH
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Bridge Logistics (Cincinnati, OH) in June 2018

      Interview

I was contacted by the first Talent Acquisition member to be contacted by a second member to set-up a scheduled time to do a phone interview. The first person gave a me run down of what they would pay and what they were looking for. I scheduled the interview and I had to be the one to call the second person, not typical but I did it. The conversation was straight forward and they new how much experience I had based on the information on my resume. I was contacted the next day by e-mail to schedule an in-person interview for the following day. So this process is moving very fast just like their business action. I met with the person who first contacted me and the somewhat younger owner. Prior to the interview, I was taken on a brief tour and I mean brief (wasn't much to be seen). The room was partially filled with people that were fresh out of college. I pretty much felt like I was walking through the common room of a dorm. I was told they had 42 people working at the company, but I only saw about half that amount. The reception area was the nicest part of the company. During the interview I was asked some weird questions and nothing related to my experience or job skills. I was not prepared for the type of questions the guy was asking. I guess this is the new millennial type of interview. I knew I didn't fit and couldn't wait to get out of the building and just go home. The receptionist were older than me and were probably related somehow to one or both of the owners. I only say this because there wasn't a regular employee over 30 to be seen in eye shot. I knew walking out the door, it was mutual that I didn't want them and they didn't want me. The owners want kids working there.

Thanks for your feedback - we are always looking to receive honest comments on our company and hiring process! To address some of your thoughts: We do currently have 42 employees working for our company, but we have two offices - with some additional team members working in our Mansfield, OH location. We do admittedly have quite a few young professionals working at our company. Our sales and operations positions are entry-level with opportunities for growth, because we really believe in development and promotion from within. As a result, candidates directly out of college or a few years removed are often drawn to those roles. However, we strive to attract a diverse workforce, and we would never want anyone to feel like they weren't welcome in our company due to their age or any other demographic.
