I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Bridgestone Americas (Leipzig) in Sept 2022

      Interview

Interview process had 3 stages and took about a month: 1)Call with a recruiter and the hiring manager: This call was mainly some background related questions about my previous roles and studies. The recruiter then started asking questions about relocation and some typical behavioural questions like "What would you do if..." . Then she tried to describe the role and the benefits that the company offers but she wasn't clear at all and gave the notion that she had not done any preparation on that. The good thing is that the hiring manager took charge and explained me all details. Hiring manager was very kind as well and had knowledge about programming. Moving on 2 days later received an email from the same recruiter that was saying they really liked my attitude and they want me to proceed to the next interview. 2)Technical interview: It was an hour virtual on site interview with two software engineers both of them had 12+ y.o.e in the company. Interview had no structure at all. They asked some questions about my background and then started asking random questions about Java and OOP. They also asked me to define some design patterns and explain in detail one of them. Pretty easy interview but completly unstructured and random. The one of two interviewers was nice and tried to keep a friendly vibe during the interview, the other one wasn't a guy I would love to have in my team because his behaviour was a bit ironic and cold. Anyways after answering correct most of their questions I didn't received any feedback from the recruiter for the next 3 days. I sent her an email to ask for it, as I had interviews with other companies and I wanted to schedule my calendar. She answered 1 day later that I cleared the interview and they liked my skill set and wanted to proceed further with my application, thus she scheduled a 1-hour meeting with 2 teams in order to meet them and probably join one of them. 3) Team meeting: I was in call with 13 different people each one of them had a role in the team. I have to mention here that 2 people were missing from the call at the begging because the recruiter didn't notify them as they said. Product owner and Scrum master were talking and explaing the most during the meeting and they were really kind. Most of the engineers had a cold vibe and didn't talk a lot. The questions they asked me were PERSONAL like: WHAT MUSIC DO YOU LIKE? and HOW IS THE CITY YOU'RE CURRENTLY LIVING? They also asked me "Do you like to share personal things in the office?" which I answered with a NO because I think that you don't have to mix personal life with work and vice versa. Finally I asked them a few questions about the role and what they expect from me and after that they finished the call. I had a good feeling about it because as I said it had a PERSONAL style not a TECHNICAL one and I believed that we had a good talk with most of the members. And now comes the good part. After 4 days I haven't heard anything from the recruiter. I sent her an email to ask for feedback because I had some other opportunities open and wanted to proceed on them if WebFleet failed. She answered me 1 day later and she ASKED ME IF I AM WILLING TO RELOCATE?? After 3 weeks and 3 interviews she asked me a question that she should have asked in the first meeting (She did ask me this in the first meeting, but she forgot because as I said she didnt have any structure and looked a bit lost with her job) . I sent her a positive answer and told her that I am willing to relocate. After that she ghosted me for 1 week. I sent her emails to ask for feedback, I called her because I was in rush for an answer, but never had a response. I decided to email the hiring manager for feedback and he answered after a day telling me that THE TEAM MEMBERS BELIEVED I AM NOT A GOOD MATCH FOR THE TEAM. I guess they extracted that result from asking me what music do I like? Anyways, to conclude the HR and the specific recruiter were completely unprofessional and wasted my time. The company seems unstructured and messy. For future candidates don't spend to much time on these interviews. P.S. It's great to give feedback to interviewees no matter if it is positive or negative. A no is ten times better than ghosting, because we can plan our future accordingly.
