      Business Support Interview

      8 Aug 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Norwalk, CT
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Bridgewater Associates (Norwalk, CT)

      Interview

Overall, I think I did well but the people that interviewed me were so rude that I could never work there. I called and told them this the next day. Talk-down type culture, everyone thinks they are better than you. Prepare for them to make you feel stupid when the questions they ask have no right answer.

      Interview

You start by having either an individual interview, watching videos, or a group interview. That is all before lunch and then you may have additional conversations after lunch. It is very relaxed and fun. They are welcoming and nice.

      Business Support Interview

      29 Aug 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Bridgewater Associates

      Interview

First, I was contacted through Linkedin about entry level positions available and the recruiter wanted to set up a phone interview. During the phone interview I could tell what kind of positions he was going to offer, which ended up being HR, Admin Assistant, or Business Support Coordinator. I wasn’t interested in HR, or Admin Assistant but I was interested in the Business Support role as it seemed interesting and he promised that it was a rewarding position, with lots of hands on experience. I said I was interested in that role and the recruiter said they would be conducting interviews the following week. I agreed to go to the interview and during the week I was sent some PDF's about what the Business Support role entailed but nothing specific. Also had to watch like an hour of videos, and do 1 hour of survey's/questionnaires. The interview was a group based interview, which like 4 components to it. There was the 1:1 interview, group discussion, cultural videos and if time allowed, additional interviews. I was one of the first couple of people to do a 1:1 interview. When I sat down before the door closed, I heard this was for a receptionist role. I almost wanted to walk out right then and there. I was not told that receptionist is something that was included in the business support role. If I had known, I would not have agreed to an interview. For a company that prides itself on honesty, they sure weren't honest about that part. As mad as I was, I continued with the process but during the interview, I told them I wasn't interested in that role, which they said they respected, and said they would see what other roles fit me. That later turned out to be HR and Admin Assistant, again which is what I said I didn't want. So, I took an entire day off from work, thinking this would be a great opportunity for me, but it ended up being a waste of 8 hours. If you’re contacted about the Business Support role but do not want to be a receptionist, or other positions relating to that, I would suggest not wasting your time. If that’s is what you’re looking for, then thats great. It seems like a good company to work at, but that position was just not for me.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

A lot of, weakness and strength questions. Be wary of what you say, because if you say something they will keep digging into the question to the point where it they keep asking the same thing over and over again no matter what response you give.
